5th Grade Goes to Jackson

Fifth grade students have been studying MS government. They took a field trip to Jackson, MS. They visited the Mississippi State Capitol Building and the Governor’s Mansion. Students saw both the Senate and House of Representative Chambers and had their picture taken with Desoto County Representatives from the House floor. They visited the Mississippi Supreme Court Building and met with Hernando native, Mississippi Supreme Court Justice, Robert P. Chamberlin. They also met with other Desoto County delegates on the steps of the Capitol building. They also made a quick stop to the art museum to do some cool “math wall art”. It was an awesome day making memories in Jackson, while doing some awesome hands-on learning.
