Friday, April 21, 2017

A list of students who have made the Yearly Honor Roll and the Yearly Achievement Roll has been posted on the bulletin board outside the high school office. If you think your name has been omitted, please see Mr. Laster immediately.

Congratulations to our Senior Class who won the Senior Video Challenge sponsored by Chick fil A. Their 10 minute video had to include class Leadership, Community Involvement, and School Spirt. Our Seniors won over all the other Desoto County Schools.

Applications for the Home Missions Class for next school year are available in both HS Offices. Deadline to turn in your application is April 28th.

Northpoint’s annual Talent Review is next Tuesday, April 25 at 7:00. Tickets are $5.00. You may purchase them in advance from any Thespian member or at the door. Come out and see your classmates perform on the stage. There are over 20 acts!

Being a Student Ambassador is a great way to get plugged in to serve your school. If you have a heart to serve others, desire to represent NCS, and want to have fun while working with other students, then you should submit an application to be a NCS Student Ambassador. Applications for new Student Ambassadors are available in either high school office. The application and letters of recommendation are due by May 4, 2017 in the East Wing office.

If you are a current student ambassador and wish to serve again next school year, you must stop by the East Wing office to sign your name for next school year and bring a copy of your most recent transcript. You do not need to complete an application, but you must re-sign up in the East Wing office by May 4, 2017.

Attention Juniors. The University of Southern Mississippi is holding Make Your Mark: The Mississippi High School Drawing Competition. Entries are due May 3rd. See Mrs. Igleharte for details.

Colorguard tryouts for the Marching Band will be on May 4th from 3:45 – 5:30 and are open to any girl in grades 7 – 12. A Colorguard clinic will be on May 1st and 2nd from 3:45 – 5:30 to help prepare for the tryouts. If you have any questions about Colorguard, stop by the Band Room and talk to Mr. McKenzie.

Remember, the Senior Class is hosting a 5k race on the school campus to honor Mrs. Mahony on April 29th. The proceeds will go towards Breast Cancer Research. The cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt. The link to signup is on the Northpoint website or in the HS Office. The Class with the most participation will get to have a Jeans Day during final exams.

The NCS Cafeteria would like to remind parents to clear up any negative balances that students have on their account. If you have any questions, please call 662-349-5052.
